"Pray and Seek My Face!"(2 Chronicles 7:14)

 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV)

“14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Pray is not an exception but an expectation.  God has called believers out of the darkness into the marvelous light to have a relationship with Himself.  This relationship calls for an active and vibrant prayer life.  Prayer must become just like breathing to a believer in Christ Jesus.  It is written, "17 pray continually,"(1 Thessalonians 5:17).  Other versions state, "pray without ceasing."

The Scripture above gives a conditional statement to God's people.  He expects humility, prayer, seeking Him, and turning from wicked ways.  There are some results that are imperative in this day and time.  God will hear and respond to answer prayers.  He will give forgiveness.  Another conditional statement is, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."(1 John 1:9)  The final outcome is a healed individual, family, community, nation, etc.

Challenge: Believers in Jesus let us pray, seeking our Heavenly Father, and receive His abundance of answers especially His grace, forgiveness, and purification.  Amen.

“Then Moses…Prayed to the Lord!”(Exodus 8:30)

“Then Moses left Pharaoh and prayed to the Lord,”(Exodus 8:30)

God has given the awesome privilege to be in communication with Him.  Leaders of God from times past have been known to be men and women of great prayer.  To lead God’s people means to pray.   Pray and believe knowing that God will answer.  Moses was such a leader.  He talked with God face to face.  He prayed for God’s people and for their enemies.  God did what he asked of Him.(Exodus 8:31)

Jesus taught believers that prayer was essential.  He stated, “And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night?  Will he keep putting them off?”(Luke 18:7) No, God will act and respond.  He will move mountains, challenges, and obstacles out of the way of His people.  He is faithful.  The Holy Bible exhorts us and states, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”(1 Peter 5:7)

Challenge:  God is calling the Body of Christ to a deep commitment to prayer!  He is commanding that prayer increase personally and corporately.  Let us obey Him!  Glory belongs unto God!  Amen.

"Your God...Has Given You Treasure!"(Genesis 43:23)

23 “It’s all right,” he said. “Don’t be afraid. Your God, the God of your father, has given you treasure in your sacks; I received your silver.” Then he brought Simeon out to them.”(Genesis 43:23)

God has given believers’ treasures.  He has placed the Gospel message in our hearts to distribute to others.  He intends for us to be blessing and give the truth freely.

The Holy Bible also states, "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."(Matthew 6:21)  Believers in Christ Jesus treasure everything of the Lord and heaven.  We are told to lay up treasures in heaven where no harm comes to them.  Treasures can be thought of as what is important.  Here is a short list of a Believers' treasure:

  1. Salvation
  2. Freedom from sin and bondage
  3. Winning other people to Christ Jesus
  4. Help others in need with resources
  5. Love and care of others (family, friends, enemies) especially with prayer.

This is not a conclusive list.  Please make your own to examine your thoughts on treasure.

Challenge:   Believers, your treasures are grounded in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Let us share according to the measure of faith that has been given.  It is for the Father's glory!  Praise Him!  Amen.

"Make You Fruitful and Increase!"(Genesis 28:3)

"May God almighty bless you and make you fruitful and increase your numbers until you become a community of peoples."(Genesis 28:3)

Yes, may God cause your light to shine believer in Christ Jesus until others join the body of Christ in faith.  Believers are to increase by growing spiritually mature.  Spiritual maturity is seen by the manifestation of the fruits of the Spirit listed in Galatians 5.  We should increase in hope, love, joy, peace, patience, and other holy characteristics to signify that Jesus controls our life.

This maturity also includes being a witness for Christ Jesus.  A witness tells of their experience with the truth.  The Holy Spirit utilizes the testimony to draw others to salvation in Jesus.  The book of Acts has testimony after testimony of how the Word of God spread plus the increase in believers in Christ.

Challenge:  Let us grow and mature in faith manifesting the fruits of the Holy Spirit.  Also, let our lives and testimony be utilized of God to draw others to Jesus.  Amen!

"Believe the Lord" (Genesis 15:6)

Believers in Christ Jesus believe with faith that the promises of God will be fulfilled.  They walk by faith and not by sight.  Patience is the attitude while waiting on God.  There are many examples in the Scriptures.  Abram was one such example.  God told him of his offspring's future and the land of their inheritance.  The Holy Bible states, "Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness."(Genesis 15:6)  God did just as He promised.

Faith recognizes and receives God's promises.  Believers in Jesus Christ are receiving them now such as the filling of the Holy Spirit.   The end result of faith is eternal life.  If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."(Galatians 3:29)

Challenge:  Keep on believing your faith is to be rewarded! Amen!

Victorious Inheritance!(Revelation 21:7)

Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.

The Scriptures have declared believers in Christ Jesus as children of God.  We are heirs specifically joint heirs with Christ.  Jesus overcame the grave to inherit resurrection unto eternal life so will believers.  Jesus inherited a throne so will believers that are victorious.  God also said, "‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’[b] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”(Revelation 21:4)  A final new beginning is planned for the victorious children of God.

Believers in Christ Jesus accept and receive current and the future new beginnings by faith.  You are victorious over the world and unbelief because you believe in God's only Son.

Challenge:  Remember your names have been written in the Lamb's book of life.  Believers are heirs of the Kingdom of God.  Let the Holy Spirit fill you and invite others into the family.

"To the One Who is Victorious!"(Rev. 2 and 3)

Jesus said to the seven churches repeatedly this phrase, "To the one who is victorious."  He said these things:
  • “I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.(Rev. 2:7)
  • Will not be hurt at all by the second death.(Rev. 2:11)
  • I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it.(Rev. 2:17)
  • I will give authority over the nations— 27 that one ‘will rule them with an iron scepter and will dash them to pieces like pottery’ [b]—just as I have received authority from my Father. 28 I will also give that one the morning star. (Rev. 2:26-28)
  • The one who is victorious will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out the name of that person from the book of life, but will acknowledge that name before my Father and his angels.(Rev. 3:5)
  • I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on them my new name.(Rev. 3:12)
  • I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne.”(Rev. 3:21)
These are the promises to the victorious.  How does one become victorious?  They have faith in God's only Son, Jesus.  They overcome the world by this faith.
