"He is Able to Help!"(Hebrews 2:18)

Jesus taught His disciples to pray.  Specifically He taught us to say, “Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one.”(Matthew 6:13)  His teaching came from experience.  The Word of God states that He also set the example.  “Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.”(Hebrews 2:18)

Jesus is the believer’s help.  He has also given the Holy Spirit to further empower the Saints of God to say no to ungodliness and worldly lusts.  We can live godly and holy lives as God, the Father, has called us to. “Be holy as I am holy!”(Leviticus 19:2)

Challenge:  Believers, God has given us the help to live according to His word.  Jesus stated, “Watch and pray that you will not fall into temptation.”(Mark 14:38)  Don’t give up on living godly, but give any struggle over to God!  Amen!

Blessings!

What Pleases God Part 2?(1 Timothy 2:1-3)

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—(1 Timothy 2:1)

-          Faith pleases God.  He commends faith and rewards it. Prayer is an expression of this faith.  Specifically praying for others also known as intercession.  Who should receive prayer?

o       Those in authority such as kings (1 Timothy 2:1-3)
o       Enemies (Matthew 5:44)
o       Family especially God’s (Ephesians 6:18)
o       Everyone (Philippians 4:6)

The book of Hebrews commends the ancients on their faith.  They pleased God and even one did not taste death.  They received answered prayers and promises were fulfilled.

Challenge:  Continue to seek ways to please the Lord!  Prayer is at the top of the list! Amen!

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” (Hebrews 1:6)

Ø      Love your neighbor as yourself.”(Luke 10:27)

Ø      Look after the fatherless, orphans, and widows.(James 1:27)

"Go Quickly and Tell!"(Matthew 7:28)

Today Good Friday is celebrated and remembered.  It is the day that the Lord Jesus gave His life as a sacrifice so that believers would have eternal life.  The great and awesome occurred just a short time later as death could not keep Him.  He is alive!  He lives forever and so will all believers.  The message of the gospel is centered on Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection.  It is the message of love and hope.

Believers were given the command to go and share this message with all.  The great blessing and miracle is when a person comes to believe.  The truth has set them free.  A believer is free indeed.  Free from fear of death and the grave plus sins grip is broken.  Salvation and eternal life are granted to the one who will live forever with God, the Father and Jesus Christ, the Son.

Challenge:  Believers, let us share this great message of God’s love and participate in the miracle of salvation.  Amen!

Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”(Matthew 7:28)
