Psalms 5:12 God's Favor

God's Favor

We hear a lot of about Favor (a gracious act, kind regard, good will; partiality, token of generosity.)  "Favor is not fair."  I declare to you that the favor of God is fair.  According to Psalms 5:12,

"For you, O Lord, will bless the righteous:
With favor You will surround him as with a shield."

It is the righteous who are surrounded by the favor of God.  It is not self-righteousness, but it the righteousness that is imparted to the Believer in Jesus Christ.  God will have His hand in the life of the believer to protect him or her.  He gives provision to them and works miracles on their behalf.

Another word for favor is grace (unmerited favor).  His grace is suffcient and enables us to do whatever He calls us to.  It is by grace that we have been saved and not of yourselves.  It is by His favor that you receive the irrevocable gifts of God to press toward Godly prosperity or success (meaning breakthrough, breakout) and utilize those gifts for the building of His Kingdom.  This is obtained by meditating on His word day and night as in the book of Joshua 1:8.

"This book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it.  For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success."

The abundant favor of God comes with some stipulations.  Even though, He rains on the just and unjust.  He will let the world know the difference between the righteous and the wicked. (Malachi 3:18)  The harvest that God has ordained, and you have prepared through the seeds sown (righteous living.) will come to fruition.  (Galatians 6:7-10)

Amen
