16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."(1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
Prayer is like breathing to a Christian. It is part of who we are. It may be preached by some as a duty, but it is the essence of being in a relationship with the only true God. He desires for His people to come to Him. Rejoicing and giving thanks are a part of this communication. Humanly, we may go without speaking to a loved one such as a parent for a couple of days or more. Others have closed some loved ones out completely. However, children of God know their Father and are invited to be on a moment by moment conversation with Him. God always wants to speak to His children.
Believers, let us grow to always know God and listen to Him through the Holy Bible. "Continually" means there is not a stopping point. Let us remember Jesus was teaching on prayer and referenced "always pray and not give up."
Challenge: Make conversations with God a priority over everything. Let prayer be filled with rejoicing (praise) and thankfulness (gratitude). This is God's will for us! Amen!
