"Seek Me and Find Me!"(Jeremiah 29:13)

13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."(Jeremiah 29:13)

The Lord promises that seeking Him ends in results.  The results are finding Him and knowing Him on a personal level.  It is getting to know the only God of the universe.  The believers' in Christ Jesus have prayer as the means of beginning and continuing a relationship with God.  A believer's private prayer life is the distinguishing difference.  Spending time with a holy God establishes holiness.  Holiness is a state of being that results in right thoughts and actions.

Jesus taught on prayer.  He told believers to be persistent in their prayer life.  He wanted His followers to know the Father and realize their relationship was to be pursued in prayer.  It is time to evaluate one's pursuits and how much time spent toward the Father.  The Holy Spirit is a present help!

Challenge:   “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you."(Matthew 7:7)

Results: "For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."

"To Pray for You!"(1 Samuel 12:23)

"As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by failing to pray for you.  And I will teach you the way that is good and right."(1 Samuel 12:23)

The prophet Samuel considered it a sin to not pray for God's people.  Believers in Jesus Christ are called to pray especially for others.  Intercession is to be a part of the believers DNA, since Jesus is the Chief Intercessor.  Also, the Holy Spirit intercedes within us.  This is according to God's will.  We have help from the Lord.  No excuses will be excepted on the great day.  Jesus response, "Depart from me..." or "Well done.."

The intercessory prayers of us saints is to be offered up for all people.  The saints, enemies, kings, and others are included.  Let us not shrink back in faith, but keep on asking, seeking, and knocking.  We know the God who answers! Amen!

Challenge: "I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth."(1 Timothy 2:1-4)

"Let Us Draw Near to God!"(Hebrews 10:22)

22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water."(Hebrews 10:22)

God is calling His people to draw close to Him. He is wanting them to understand their covenant relationship with Him.  He has once and for all made the guilt of sin to be forgiven and cleansed away.  Jesus shed His blood for the sins of all especially believers.  He has given the grace to believe and draw near to God, the Father.

This is the power of grace.  His grace has the ability and power to keep the children of God from sinning.  This grace is the power behind doing righteousness and building the relationship with God through prayer.  Prayer is one of the results of receiving grace and responding to Jesus in faith.

Challenge:  Let us do the Scripture:  "Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need."(Hebrews 4:16)

"Pray Continually!"(1 Thessalonians 5:17)

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."(1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

Prayer is like breathing to a Christian.  It is part of who we are.  It may be preached by some as a duty, but it is the essence of being in a relationship with the only true God.  He desires for His people to come to Him.  Rejoicing and giving thanks are a part of this communication.  Humanly, we may go without speaking to a loved one such as a parent for a couple of days or more.  Others have closed some loved ones out completely.  However, children of God know their Father and are invited to be on a moment by moment conversation with Him.  God always wants to speak to His children.

Believers, let us grow to always know God and listen to Him through the Holy Bible.  "Continually" means there is not a stopping point.  Let us remember Jesus was teaching on prayer and referenced "always pray and not give up."

Challenge:  Make conversations with God a priority over everything.  Let prayer be filled with rejoicing (praise) and thankfulness (gratitude).  This is God's will for us!  Amen!

"Lord, Teach Us to Pray!"(Luke 11:1)

"One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lordteach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”(Luke 11:1)

The disciples perceived the heart of Jesus and the importance that He placed on prayer.  They then asked Him a very important question.  "Lord, teach us to pray?"  They had seen the signs, miracles, and other manifestations that Jesus executed for the Father.  One can wonder if they wanted the same power for selfless or selfish reasons.  If it were for the negative, Jesus would have exposed it.  Instead, Jesus followed up with an answer to the request.

There is probably lots of revelation that be gained from the passage in Luke 11. One being that God wants His people to pray to Him and have the expectation to receive answers.  A study was done at a prayer conference, and it was reported that several in attendance only prayed 5 minutes give or take a day.  Such little praying could only indicate very little in answered prayer.  Let us as God's people of faith like Jesus' example be found praying by those that we lead.  We should teach others to pray.

Challenge:  Take the initiative to plan the time(s) and places that you will pray each day.  Pray specifically and be aware of God's answers.  Give Him praise!  Amen.
