It is denying God’s Place in our life.  It is disobeying God’s voice.

ü       Rebellion

Rebellion 1: opposition to one in authority or dominance

2 a : open, armed, and usually unsuccessful defiance of or resistance to an established government b : an instance of such defiance or resistance

This is happening in the world.  There is opposition against God.   The world is taking Him out of the courthouse, wanting to take Him off of money, etc.

ü      Witchcraft

1 the use of sorcery or magic b : communication with the devil or with a familiar

2 : an irresistible influence or fascination

1 Kings 19:1

It is an abomination.  Those who practiced were to be put to death according to the Old Testament.

•       Forsake speaking against God’s people with curses, spells, and murderous threats (lies, slander, etc).

God will bring correction.  It will bring the peaceful fruit of righteousness.  We need to do the right things.  Idle words will be judged.  We must be in right standing with God.  Even when a leader is wrong, seek to solve the situation with Biblical principles.

•       Forsake wrong words, spells, witchcraft.  Get in line with God’s word.  Do God’s will.  Grace of God will be on you.  You will have favor.  Pray for others who speak wrong against you.

ü      Manipulation

1 Kings 21:4-14

The scripture points out how Jezebel manipulated others through usurping her husband’s authority.  She wrote a letter, declared a fast, plotted against an innocent man, and caused his murder.

•       Forsake lies and slander.  These are murderous. 
•       Forsake getting what you want.  Trust God and His Spirit.

3: to change by artful or unfair means so as to serve one's purpose: 

2 Kings 9:22

Jehu gives the description that Jezebel abounded in idolatry and witchcraft.

There is no condemnation in Christ Jesus.  Jesus is our Advocate.  The conviction is so we can obtain mercy and grace in our time of need.  (Note :  The following was not covered in the class:  God delights to give us grace and mercy!  He is close to the broken hearted and contrite in spirit.)
