"Know Me!"(Jeremiah 9:24 and John 8:32)

Greetings Saints of God,

The Sovereign Lord has declared, "But let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord."(Jeremiah 9:24)

How to do we come to know the Lord?  It is through prayer and meditating on His Holy Word.  There are no short cuts or excuses that will work on the side of lacking a personal prayer life.  We come to the Father in the name the Lord Jesus Christ.  We should come boldly to God's throne of grace with a humble heart seeking to know Him.

Words of encouragement and counsel is found throughout the Scripture.  It is through the Holy Bible that we come to know the character of God and His Son, Christ Jesus.  This is where we go for truth.  Everything that is opposite of God's Word are lies and deception.  Jesus taught, "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."(John 8:32)

Challenge:  Know God, the Father, and Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit by consistently praying and hiding God's Word in your heart!  Amen!  Then we are equipped to tell others that "Jesus is way, truth, and the life."

"Come to Me!"(Nehemiah 8:10 and Matthew 11:28-30)

Greetings People of God!

The joy of the Lord is our strength.(Nehemiah 8:10)  A previous post mentioned prayer as a means to happiness.  Happiness for the believer in Christ Jesus is joy.  We have the joy of our salvation.  The world did not give it.  Let not the world and its cares take it away.  Joy is expounded when we are persistently seeking God through prayer and connecting to Him in the Holy Bible.  Prayer and God's Holy Word are priority.  Again let us not forget the Counselor, the Holy Spirit.  He helps us in our weakness.

We can take our joy and give solid advice to the unsaved.  We call tell them that God desires a relationship with them and will hear their prayer of repentance.  He says, "Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near."(Isaiah 55:6)  Also, we can share the words of Jesus,

"28 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."(Matthew 11:28-30)

Challenge:  Let us persevere in prayer and intercession for the unsaved!  God is able to save!   Let's help them claim salvation and the joy of the Lord!

Prayer and Happiness!(Psalm 55:22 and 1 Peter 5:7)

Life brings with it circumstances and situations that do cause anxiety, sorrow, fear, worry, etc.  Emotions can run very high and are even paralyzing at some points.  The loss of strength can happen due to carrying these situations around with you.  This is all the more reason to seek the only true and living God.  He cares and comforts believers in Christ Jesus.  He offers the following words:

"Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you;
he will never let the righteous be shaken."Psalm 55:22

The New Testament confirms this word and states, "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."(1 Peter 5:7)  Prayer allows the believer to enter into God's presence carrying their cares to leave them there.  The Holy Spirit helps our inability to do this effectively and prays for us with wordless expressions.  Glory to God for His help towards His beloved people.  He gives happiness/joy and peace to overcome circumstances.

Challenge:  3So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. (Matthew 6:31-33)

Are You Praying More or Less?(Jeremiah 314, Matthew 26:41)

14 “Return, faithless people,” declares the Lord, “for I am your husband. I will choose you—one from a town and two from a clan—and bring you to Zion."

One who prays often is full of faith. Faith is having hope in what is not seen.  It is seeking God and being firm in the belief that He will answer.  Of course, one who prays less is the opposite in faith.  God had called the Israelite faithless or as in the King James Version backsliding.  Backsliding is defined as the condition of "one who has fallen from a spiritual level they once had attained."1

Prayer is a number one priority to keep believers in Christ Jesus moving forward in their relationship with the Lord. It keeps them strong in the Lord and power of His might.  They are able to resist temptation and sin.  It is all about dependence upon God, the Father, Jesus, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

God gives grace and restores the believer!

Challenge:  "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.  The spirit is willing , but the flesh is weak."(Matthew 26:41)
