"What Comes Out of a Person!"(Mark 7:20-23)

People are known by their actions.  They may have a reputation with others.  Actions reveal what is really going on in their heart.  Good deeds are done, but the motive(s) are in the heart.  These motives may seem hidden, but sometimes they come out in the open.

God always knows the true intentions of others.  He sees what people are doing and thinking.  He sees what is done in public and secret.  He knows their character. Character is what a person is when no one is looking.  God is righteous in His judgment.  He gave, His Son, Jesus, the same wisdom and understanding of people.  Jesus said,

20 He went on: “What comes out of a person is what defiles them. 21 For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, 22 adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. 23 All these evils come from inside and defile a person.”

The heart of a person and their actions reveal their character.

Challenge:  Believers, God knows the heart.  He brings conviction to change by helping a person to have right heart motives.  Blessings!  Amen!

"Whatever You Ask!"(Matthew 21:22)

Do you remember asking for something very important to you then receiving it?  Perhaps you asked your parents, grandparents, or some other relative.  They listened and granted your request.  If you have asked for anything at all and received it, then you know the joy plus satisfaction over it.

God tells believers in Christ Jesus in His word to ask Him to answer requests. He say to keep asking in prayer.  His desired is to grant small and large requests.  Jesus stated, "If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer."(Matthew 21:22)  He mentioned huge requests like moving a mountain.  He could mean spiritual and physical obstacles to move out of the way.  The point is to believe God for answers in expectation that He will do it.

Challenge:  Believers, ask God for great requests in prayer!  God can do it!  Jesus said He would!  Let the Holy Spirit empower your faith to pray God's will to harvest souls into the Kingdom!  Amen!

"The Father is Seeking!"(John 4:23)

There are things that we do and say that reveal our priorities in life.  Priorities or what is important in one’s life is indicated by actions.  Words are important, but actions truly are telling of what is in first place when making choices.  How one spends finances and how time is spent are areas to evaluate.  Taking a look at a bank account statement or budget and writing down a list of weekly activities are also ways to review one’s priorities.  The cliché goes, “Actions speak louder than words.”

Father God in heaven is seeking those that make Him a priority.  Time and other resources can be measured in areas that God thinks is important.  Prayer and praise are extremely important in making Him a priority.  This indicates worship of Him.  Worship is done in the Spirit and in truth.   Resources are to be directed toward spreading the message about His only Son, Jesus Christ.  Also, God mentions sharing with the poor, widow, and fatherless.  Believers in Christ Jesus are to be known for good deeds that show worship of the only true and living God.

Challenge:  Believer now is the time to examine these areas and evaluate your worship of God in the activities of life.  Worship is carried out in actions that speak of a lifestyle dedicated to God.  The Holy Spirit will bring the truth and help in the worship of God.  Amen.

"Gathered Around Him!"(Mark 4:1)

Fruits, vegetables, and other crops are gathered at harvest time. They are collected to be either eaten or sold at the market.  People also gather.  It may be for a special event, common purpose, or similar activity.  Gathering has the purpose of bringing people or things closer together.

Again Jesus began to teach by the lake. The crowd that gathered around him was so large that he got into a boat and sat in it out on the lake, while all the people were along the shore at the water’s edge.(Mark 4:1)

God is in the process of gathering His people.  People are coming closer to Him in reverence and worship.  Their lives reflect the love God and fear of Him.  God draws near to them.  Jesus in His earthly ministry often gathered large crowds to Himself.  He taught them the way to a relationship with the Father.  Today, Jesus is still gathering people.  It is physical but most of all spiritual.  God’s people have one Lord, one faith, and one baptism.  They have the common purpose of loving God with all their heart, mind, soul, and strength.  Also, they loves others as their self.
Challenge:  Father God is preparing His children for the final gathering to Him.  They will live with Him forever and ever.  Spread the word with valiantly and boldly actions!  Amen!

"Gather His Elect!"(Mark 13:20 ,27)

Mark 13:20, 27

20 “If the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would survive. But for the sake of the elect, whom he has chosen, he has shortened them.
27 And he will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens."

God has promised an ending of all things.  It is sure to take place.  It will be a distressful time.  The days of the end have been shortened for God’s people.  He has providentially set a circumstance for their survival.  God is amazing in that way.  He cares for His people, the elect and chosen.

Believers in Christ can be comforted with God’s word.  He has given ample warning about the end.  He wants His people to be on guard against deceit and know the truth.  The time will come and His people, the elect, will be gathered together.

Challenge:  People of God seek the Lord while He may be found.  Help others know Him and become His child.  He is preparing His people to be gathered together.  Amen!
