Spread and Flourish!(Acts 12:24)

Acts 12:24(NIV)

24 But the word of God continued to
 spread and flourish.

An appropriate word for 2015 is “flourish.”   An earlier post covered the meaning of thriving or growing well.  God’s plan is to have the Gospel of Jesus Christ to flourish.  It is to spread from land to land.  It is to move from heart to heart.  God is glorified and magnified when sinners repent and turn toward Him.  More people are to forsake and cast away false gods to worship the only God by accepting His Son, Jesus as Savior.  The will of God is for people of all nations, languages, and tribes to believe in the one He sent, Jesus.

This belief and/or faith comes by hearing the word of God.  They hear from a preacher.  The preacher is sent by God to deliver and spread His word.  Others are trained in the Gospel message.  The Word of God spreads and flourishes.

Challenge:  Stand firm in your faith and allow God to develop a strategy to spread and flourish His Word through you.  Amen!

"His Favor Rests"(Luke 2:14)

Luke 2:14New International Version (NIV)

14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

This is the season to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. His coming has great significance for the world.  God send His only Son, Jesus to give peace and reconciliation of a relationship with Him.  Jesus’ birth is a miracle.  He is the Lamb of God sent into the world.  He came to fulfill the purpose of death on the cross.  His resurrection is another miracle.   Miracles of salvation are given to all who believe.  Many believe and have forgiveness of sin.  God’s peace and favor rests on them.

Saints of God, Jesus is the gift that keeps on giving for eternity.  God’s goodness of this news is to spread throughout the nations.  Let us agree and pray earnestly to the Lord to send forth workers into the Harvest.  We know that His will is for no one to die without Him, but He wants them to repent.

Challenge:  Praise God for His miracles of salvation all around us this season!  Amen!

"Rejoice in Hope!"(Romans 5:2)

"Through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God."(Romans 5:2, NKJV)

Hope has to do with expectations and anticipation.  Many have misplaced their hope in people or things.  There is only one pure hope.  This is in God’s only Son, Jesus Christ.  God sent Jesus to be born of a virgin and to be a miracle for the whole world.  The miracle is salvation and reconciliation with the only God.  This great hope of salvation includes being in the presence of God.

Jesus is also known as Immanuel, God with us.  Believers have the hope of God being with them now and throughout eternity.  Also, there is the anticipation of Christ’s coming again to gather His people together.  God’s hope is amazing and will not disappoint.

Challenge:  Believers, share the great hope that is within you.  Christmas is a great season to share.  Jesus is the hope for all reasons and seasons!  Amen!

Blessings,

"They Will Flourish!"(Psalm 92:13)

Flourish is a word meaning "to thrive" or grow very well.  People, animals, and things can flourish.  God causes them to be blessed and grow in abundance.  The Word of God compares His people to trees that flourish such as palm, cedar, and olive.  These all have significant features and one being strength.  Trees grow tall and can live for many years.  The palm tree specifically can stand against strong winds.

God's people, believers in Christ Jesus, are to currently and/or will continue to thrive into greater grow in Him.  Ministries are meant to prosper or bring forth fruit.  The fruit is to remain and last.  It is not temporary, but it is meant to be permanent throughout eternity.

Challenge: Saints of God, remember His plan to prosper and not harm, to give hope and a future.  These are all in Christ Jesus with the help of the Holy Spirit.  Prayers are for you, your loved ones, and ministries to grow and thrive.  Amen.

Psalm 92:13New International Version (NIV)

13 planted in the house of the Lord,
they will flourish in the courts of our God.
